Buying Guide
Cordless drill/drivers
These are lightweight and easy to handle – can be used for drilling and screwdriving almost anywhere. No trailing cables to worry about.
They're powered by a rechargable battery pack – the higher the voltage, the more powerful the drill. You'll need to charge the battery fully before using the drill for the first time. Charging time usually takes between 30 minutes and 3 hours, depending on the model. A second battery means you can charge one whilst using the other – no down time.
All our drill drivers feature adjustable torque settings and are fitted with a keyless chuck – no tools are needed to change drill or driver bits.
Corded Driver
Suitable for the more experienced and confident user, with extra power and torque than cordless drills, for more demanding and consistant use. They plug into the mains for constant power, the higher the wattage, the more powerful the drill.
SDS drills
Featuring a quick locking keyless chuck system, these drills offer considerably more power than other drills due to a large heavier motor.
They'll drill virtually anything from wood to brick and concrete. Models with Rotary Stop can be used for chiselling plaster and even some demolition work. Both cordless and cordered models are available.
Torque settings
Torque equates to turning power and can be adjusted to suit the material being drilled. Use low torque settings when driving small screws into soft wood and high settings for driving large screws into hard wood.
