The ML240 Mini LED light is small enough to fit in a camera case or small bag, but fully-featured enough for versatile use with compact cameras and smartphones.

It can be hand held, mounted on a flash hotshoe or fitted to any number of Manfrotto supports via its standard1/4 thread. The ML240's 24 LEDs emit continuous light at a constant temperature of 5600K (daylight), with an illuminance of 220 LUX at a distance of 1m. Its infinitely variable dimmer allows precise control over light output and exposure. The ML240 is a useful compact light, often less harsh than an on-camera flash for photos of subjects close to the camera and good for very low-light close-up video shots, or for specific, quick off-camera applications like macro photography. When fitted onto a DSLR shoe, a handy 3200K LED lights your camera controls to assist you in low light conditions. The ML240 takes 2 x AAA battery, which will keep it lit at full brightness for approximately 60 minutes. LEDs also have a longer life span than traditional bulbs and are more shock-resistant.

The ML120 Pocket LED Light is the smallest and lightest in the Manfrotto range of compact continuous LED light units, ideally suited for use with compact cameras and smart phones when additional light is needed for shooting video or stills.

It can be hand held, mounted on a flash hotshoe or fitted to any number of Manfrotto supports via its standard1/4 thread. The ML120's 12 LEDs emit continuous light at a constant temperature of 5600K (daylight), with an illuminance of 120 LUX at a distance of 1m, meaning the ML120's range and power are limited, but its tiny size and ultra-portability make it a useful pocket companion, often less harsh than an on-camera flash for photos and good for very low-light close-up video shots, or for specific, quick off-camera applications like macro photography without flashes and slaves. The ML120 takes 1xAAA battery, which will keep it lit at full brightness for approximately 30 minutes. LEDs also have a longer life span than traditional bulbs and are more shock-resistant.

  • This Hama T2 adapter mount allows SLR and DSLR cameras using the Canon EOS Bayonet lens mount to be fitted to a number of specialist lenses and accessories.

The mount itself simply screws onto the device concerned, provided it uses a T2 mounting system, and is then fitted into the bayonet of the camera. Should the device not be mounted square to the camera, there are 3 grub screws around the outside of the mount which can be gently loosened using a watchmaker type screwdriver, the device can be squared up and the grub screws retightened so that it is correct for the next use. Devices that can be adapted for Canon EOS fit SLR/DSLR use include slide copiers, bellows attachments for macro photography, long lenses, astronomical telescopes (normally with a Photo Adapter), spotting or field scopes and optical and digital microscopes, again with adapters. This opens up a huge variety of new subjects for the aspiring photographer. The downside is that there is no autofocus or even aperture control via this simple mount, these have to be done manually on the devices, but this is far outweighed by the opportunities that this mount offers in terms of value for money, flexibility and creativity.

  • The UV filter from Hama is a must have for avid photographers Primarily developed to provide protection to the camera lens, the UV filter has a number of benefits.

The filter protects the lens from scratches, dust and finger-marks with can be hard to clean and impair the quality of a photo. The filter can also help to make the cleaning of your camera a much easier task; a lot of camera lens are curved and recessed, the flat surface of the filter means that maintaining your cameras cleanliness is a more straightforward task. The protection of your camera lens can also help to increase the resale price of your camera when the time comes for an upgrade, because your lens is still in mint condition. In addition the UV filter can improve the quality of your photos by making them clear and sharp in black and white and colour. Ultraviolet rays often make photos appear pale and grey; with UV filters the photos are richer in contrast, the filter absorbs the ultraviolet rays without effecting visible light balance. The UV filter can also help to improve the clarity of the film by reducing the amount of ultraviolet light that reaches it. Because the lens is coated on both sides, minimal flare is produced when the lens is pointed towards bright light.
