Comments about Emmelle 26 inch Tuscany 18 Speed Ladies Bike:

[...]Took 1 1/2 hours to build, alot of the time was spent trying to untangle some of the pieces from frame, instructions very complex, poor pictures, tooooo much detail.Transfered pattern not in line.Said padded seat - same padding as my husbands racing bike and that is not very padded.

    Buying Guide

    Which bike?

Mountain bikes: For treks, trails or road, many with suspension. Have 26in deep tread tyres.

Hybrids: Mountain bike frame with 700c tyres. Designed for fast road and trail use.

Town and City bikes: Great frames with 700c tyres. For road and trail use.

BMW: Durable bikes designed for fun riding and racing, many with extra spokes for stronger wheels.

    Bike features

    Steel frames: Durable, tubular.

Alloy: Strong and lightweight made from aluminum for lighter weight.

Rigid: These have no suspension and make the lightest bikes.

Front Suspension: For improved steering/comfort over rough terrain.

Dual Suspension: Has both front and rear suspension.

V-type brakes: High performance, operate against the wheel rim.

Cable disk brakes: Disk brakes offer superb stopping power by keeping the disk away from the dirt.

Hydraulic disc brakes: The ultimate in stopping power using hydraulic technology combined with a disk.

Gear shift: Changing gear is easy: one click or twist changes one gear.

SRAM shift (Rotational): Simple accurate and fast - rotate part of the hand grip to change gear.

Rapid shift: Easy to use for fast accurate changes - click on finger or thumb trigger to change one gear.

    Tyres: 16in, 20in, 24in and 26in tyres.

Wide tyres with deep tread for great grip. Suits all terrains including mud. 700c larger diameter, narrower width, slicker tyres to aid speed and reduce noise. For use on road and trails.

    Assembly

Our bikes are built by industry leading manufactures and then packed into sturdy cartons. The bikes are 85% assembled, which we've found is the best way to protect your bike during transport. You will need to part assemble the bike. Allow about 1 hour to fit the wheels, slot in the handlebars (the brakes and gear are fitted for you), and fit the saddle and pedals. Instructions and a tool are supplied.
