Bought these to replace my trusty 10 year old standard ghd straighteners, which still work fine but with my very thick, long hair I wanted the benefit of the wider plates. It doesn't make that much difference although the new ones are a little smoother so overall a very good experience. Shame there isn't a heat resistant mat included for the price though.
