It's the best Freeview HD receiver you can get. The HD picture, is, of course, because it's all standardised, way better than Freeview.
Now obviously you need to have a HDTV, and connect it via. a HD capable medium, such as HDMI.
They recently added iPlayer support, and proper 5.1 transcoding from the AAC to Dolby Digital AC3 for your external optical receiver.

We purchased this as a replacement for our cable box. But only because our HD Ready TV didnt have the relevant audio output for our surround sound. I miss my cable box because there is no freeze live tv and no recording of your special programmes. its basic. But it served the purpose we bought it for. FREEVIEW channels are of good quality and so are the HD channels although only limited to 3 HD channels at the moment. and the best reason i can think of is No more monthly cable bills!!!!
