I have been using this reel regularly ( of which i have 2 )and " IT IS NOT AN OUT AND OUT CARP FISHING REEL THAT SOME PEOPLE ON HERE WANT ".
If you overload it with line Thicker than 8lbs it will sometimes snag ( i use a high quality braid which is perfect for up to 75yds casts ), you should also only fill it to within an 1/8inch or 3mm of the spool Lip. This is NOT a carp reel for Banging out 4 to 6 ounce weights with 12+ lbs Line , this is a Match Reel for Rods with a T/C OF NO MORE THAN 1.75LBS , check out other reviews in the Angling Press for this Reels usage.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

this product is flawed it is impossible to load the spool fully as you just get constant tangles.ive been fishing 30 years and this is genuinely the worst spool ive ever seen

    I ordered 2 of these reels and on the second fishing trip, the free spool stopped working on one of the reels. Having sent it back and replaced with a new one, the free spool on the other reel stopped working on the 4th fishing trip!!!! I'm now expecting the new one to go too, there is clearly a manufacturing defect in these reels.....you have been warned.

      Never have I experienced a reel that constantly tangles line like this one does. Line is repeatedly caught on the clip (yes the special ACS clip the manufacturer raves about), the spool, the handle.............just awful.

      If that wasn't bad enough, the free spool feature stopped working the second time I used the reel, it's a load of old rubbish.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
