MPN: VNA900E1With an ultra-high-power 21x zoom NIKKOR lens and SPORT (VR) mode, this Nikon DL is perfect for always-on photographers with an eye for motion. This camera also sports a built-in 2359k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, and a high-resolution OLED vari-angle touchscreen. Available in classic black.
- Legendary nikkor optics: edge-to-edge sharpness throughout the zoom range
The Nikon DL24-500 is proof that you don't need to miss the action when you're on the go. Equipped with a high-performance NIKKOR 24-500mm f/2.8-5.6 lens, this camera delivers perfectly rendered high-resolution images whether you're shooting wide or closing the distance. The broad focal range of 24-500mm (35mm equivalent) puts diverse perspectives at your disposal, while the bright f/2.8-5.6 aperture enables pleasing bokeh, clear low-light shots and distinctive subject/background separation. With such a broad focal length range, optical design is key and this lens includes an aspherical extra-low-dispersion (ED) glass element as well as aspherical lens elements and ED glass elements. As a result, color fringing, distortions and chromatic aberrations are minimized throughout the zoom range. In addition, the lens boasts Nikon's fluorine coating, which actively repels water, dust, and dirt without compromising image quality. This coating also makes it easier to clean the glass without damaging the surface.
- Compact not compromised: serious reach, and the image quality to make it worthwhile
True versatility used to mean a heavy lens, and a heavy camera. Now the Nikon DL24-500 gives you a new option. Whether the shooting opportunity in front of you calls for wide-angle or super-telephoto, you can capture Nikon-quality 20.8 MP stills in JPEG or NEF (RAW) format, and shoot beautifully detailed 4K/UHD movies at 30p/25p. The camera's 1-inch backside-illuminated CX-format CMOS sensor makes the most of every pixel to sharply capture fine details and render clean, crisp images. Low light situations are handled exceptionally well thanks to a standard ISO range of 160 to 12800. Plus the camera's built-in ND filter reduces the amount of incoming light to enhance creative possibilities when shooting at slow shutter speeds. Full HD video is fully supported and the camera offers clean HDMI output for footage shot at up to 1920×1080 pixels. You can also capture photos while filming. Whether it's movies or stills, Nikon's powerful EXPEED 6A processing engine keeps you shooting at speed, and improves noise reduction when shooting at high ISOs.
- Superior subject acquisition
The Nikon DL24-500 won't miss the action. The camera starts up in just over a second and response time is a scintillating 0.115 s. You can shoot full resolution action images at up to 20 fps with continuous autofocus. Or shoot at up to 60 fps with focus fixed at the first frame. Nikon's Advanced Hybrid AF system identifies your subject and deploys either 105 phase detection points or 171 contrast detection points. Phase-detection AF tracks movement at breakneck speed. Contrast-detect AF extends to the edge of the frame so you can focus sharply on peripheral subjects, even in low light. The high-resolution 1037k-dot OLED vari-angle touchscreen monitor puts vital shooting functions right where you need them. Subject acquisition is strengthened by the Dual Detect Optical VR (Vibration Reduction) system. And VR SPORT mode enables a stable viewfinder image for greater control over framing when you're shooting high-speed movement.
- A true Nikon: familiar dslr-like control
With a control layout designed to be familiar to Nikon DSLR users, the Nikon DL24-500 ensures you can keep your eye on the action. This is a camera that puts everything right where you're used to finding it. Even the lens is detailed with the signature gold NIKKOR ring. On the top panel of the camera body, the PSAM mode dial is augmented by a dedicated ±5 EV exposure compensation dial. The camera boasts a rotary multi selector, and the all-important function (fn) button. Menu design will also be familiar. The built-in high-resolution 2359k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF) offers clear visibility and high-contrast information display. If you're used to controlling aspects like focus and aperture from the lens, you'll appreciate the customisable control ring on the lens barrel. Settings that can be assigned to the control ring include shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance and Picture Controls. You can also use the control ring to select manual-priority AF and focus manually while shooting with AF.
- More room for more kit: flashes, microphones, filters and lens hoods
. Various Nikon Speedlights are compatible with the hot shoe, including the portable SB-500. With a dedicated high-intensity LED on board, the SB-500 is the perfect partner for movie shooting. Beyond Speedlights, the camera is compatible with Nikon's ME-1 stereo microphone, a dedicated lens filter and lens hood. You can also protect the camera's sturdy good looks with Nikon's messenger-style compact system bag.
- Complete control: in-camera tools
A range of creative and practical features can accommodate both your preferred style of shooting and your creative vision. In Pre-Capture mode, the camera begins shooting when the shutter-release button is half pressed, and continues to shoot after the button has been released. You can opt to save the entire sequence or just select your favorite shots. When it comes to reviewing images, an auto delete function streamlines the workflow process for continuous shooting. Designed to reduce the time it takes to check through sequences of shots taken at high frame rates, this function allows you to mark shots for automatic deletion if images are blurred, faces are hidden or eyes are closed. For greater creative control over your image, Picture Controls, inherited from Nikon DSLRs, let you apply and adjust suites of settings keyed to your shooting intentions. You can take complete control over sharpening, contrast, brightness, hue, and saturation when shooting stills and video.
- Creative mode: in-camera effects
The Nikon DL24-500 knows how to raise a smile. For quick fixes while on the go, you can touch up, alter, or even reimagine the action with the range of filters and exposure settings available in Creative Mode. Use High Dynamic Range (HDR) to fill details in high-contrast scenes and portrait compositions. Add quirky miniaturization effects to cityscapes and busy street scenes, or reproduce stunning light trails with Multiple Exposure (Lighten). Advanced movie functions mean you can go deeper into your scene with slow motion, or shoot time-lapse sequences with smooth exposure transitions. You can even speed up the action and capture a fast-forward dash through a new city with the Superlapse function, which skips frames during recording. Beyond the shoot, Nikon's free Capture NX-D software enables you to realize the full potential of your NEF (RAW) image files.
- Keep your camera connected to your smart device with snapbridge
