Cyperus papyrus Percamentus 15cm PotA type of papyrus with an ancient history, the umbrella plant has been used in Egypt for thousands of years to make paper and is now featuring in a more contemporary setting as we bring it into our homes as a houseplant. Cyperus is a form of grassy sedge, and loves plenty of water, in fact this means that you can't overwater it - the main cause of houseplant demise so it's a unique solution for those of us that tend to kill plants with kindness! Also known as the umbrella plant, it gets its name from the leaflets on top of the stems which fan out like an umbrella - a unique and interesting houseplant that will grow into a clump with many umbrellas fanning out. Interestingly, the umbrella plant will survive outside in the summer as a marginal pond plant - in fact many people will leave it outside in the warm weather and then bring it in as a houseplant from September to May. Supplied as an established plant in a 15cm pot. Note: Decorative pot in images is for display purposes only and is not supplied.
