The Decortie Aloeva Coffee Table is the kind of low, easy centrepiece a living room settles around without fuss. It stands 90cm across and just 37cm high, so a cup of tea, a paperback and the remote all sit within arm's reach of the sofa on a slow morning. Its two half-moon tops meet to complete a full circle, one resting slightly higher than the other, so you can keep them nested as a single round surface or draw them apart when friends arrive and the room needs a little more room to breathe.

Each half is built from 18mm melamine-coated particleboard with a soft stone-effect surface, solid enough to steady a stack of books and forgiving of the glass set down in a hurry. There are no handles or hardware to interrupt the shape, just two clean sculptural forms that read as one.

Putting it together is an evening-and-a-cup-of-coffee job rather than a weekend project: the fittings are included and the panels arrive pre-finished, with nothing extra to source. Day to day it asks for almost nothing, and a wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth keeps the top looking clean.
