Back in 1911, high school junior Leo J Wahl started experimenting with a vibrating electromagnetic motor in class which led to him developing a medical massager which he sold to barbershops in his home state of Illinois, USA. Later, he invented a hand held electric hair clipper and Wahl the brand was born.
